DCCNR + NEEDS Nauru
About this organisation
The mission of the Department of Climate Change and National Resilience (DCCNR) is to mitigate the impact of climate change and strengthen the resilient capacities of Nauru against the current crisis that they are experiencing in the Pacific.
NEEDS, a DCCNR project, helps the people of Nauru reduce their electricity usage and reliance on imported diesel. The team’s goal is to reach a 30% improvement in energy efficiency in the residential, commercial and government sectors.
How we helped
Recently created, the DCCNR didn't yet have a website. They needed one to present the Department, educate the people of Nauru on how to live a more energy-efficient life, and help raise international awareness of the climate challenges facing Nauru.
We worked with Miniva Harris, Project Manager for NEEDS, and her team to create a website that met all three objectives while providing clear, succinct information. We organised the website so that their two brands (DCCNR and NEEDS) can coexist.
For DCCNR, we revisited the colors of the Nauruan flag and its star emblem to project a modern, approachable image.
For NEEDS, we used their provided logo and created an image that evokes sustainability, technology and warmth.
We also helped the Department acquire a local domain name and create a branded e-mail address so they can communicate securely and professionally.

“Working with Square&Co (Nathan) was exceptional. The workplan provided was tailored to meet our requests. Nathan was flexible, patient and understanding. We as the clients, made too many changes, couldn’t make up our minds, took too long to respond... but Nathan was super nice and super efficient... will definitely recommend to all my work colleagues and friends to engage his services. 👍👌”
